Enterprise Product Partners LP has begun service at its Poseidon cryogenic natural gas processing plant in Glasscock County in West Texas.

The company’s sixth plant in the Midland sub-basin has a nameplate capacity of 300 MMcf/d and can extract more than 40,000 b/d of natural gas liquids (NGL).

Enterprise now is able to process 1.3 Bcf/d of natural gas and extract 185,000 b/d of NGLs in the Midland, the Houston-based midstream company said. The plant is supported by long-term acreage dedication agreements.

“For the foreseeable future, the Permian Basin is expected to drive domestic production of crude oil, natural gas and NGLs, and the expansion of our midstream network will support producers as they meet growing demand in the U.S. and internationally,” Co-CEO Jim Teague said.

“The Poseidon gas plant is among $3.8 billion of major growth projects expected to begin service and generate new sources of cash flow by the end of 2023,” Teague added.

Enterprise’s 300 MMcf/d Leonidas cryogenic natural gas processing plant also in the Midland should begin service in early 2024.

In the Delaware sub-basin of the Permian in West Texas, Enterprise is expanding the Mentone cryogenic natural gas processing facility in Loving County. The second plant is scheduled for completion by year’s end. A third plant is slated for service in early 2024.

The projects are expected to increase nameplate natural gas processing capacity at Mentone by 600 MMcf/d and allow the company to extract an incremental 80,000 b/d of NGLs.

When completed, the Permian projects in the Midland and Delaware would give Enterprise the capability to process 3.8 Bcf/d of natural gas and extract 520,000 b/d of NGLs.

In May, Enterprise also completed its expansion of the Acadian Haynesville Extension natural gas pipeline. The expansion added about 400 MMcf/d of Haynesville Shale natural gas takeaway capacity.

The company during the first quarter reported soaring pipeline transportation and fee-based natural gas processing volumes.

Enterprise has 14 Bcf of natural gas storage capacity. Assets also include 50,000 miles of pipelines, 260 million bbl of storage capacity for NGL, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals.
