October Natural Gas Futures Gain on Bullish Production, Storage Build Expectations

Natural gas futures were moving higher as the market looked beyond the near-term impacts of Category 1 Hurricane Francine to warmer weather and comparatively small storage injections easing end-of-season supply woes.

  • October natural gas futures up 3.7 cents to $2.269/MMBtu as of 2:30 p.m. ET
  • Strengthening not expected as Francine moves northeast packing 90 mph winds; storm seen making landfall Wednesday on the Louisiana coast
