What is Bcf/d?

Billion cubic feet per day. 1 MMbtu/d = 1 dekatherm per day. To convert these two heat-based units of measurement into the volumetric-based 1 Bcf/d, analysts need to divide the former by a heat factor adjustment. The heat or btu content of natural gas can vary significantly among different regions, so there is not always a set divisor value. As of this writing, the U.S. EIA assumed a divisor/conversion factor of 1.037.
