What does Natural Gas Liquids Production refer to?

Natural gas liquids (NGL) production refers to the volume of NGLs that are extracted and separated from natural gas during the production process. NGLs include hydrocarbons such as ethane, propane, butane, isobutane, and natural gasoline. NGLs are separated from the raw natural gas stream during processing through a series of fractionation processes. These processes typically involve the use of heat, pressure, and/or chemicals to separate the various components of the gas stream based on their boiling points.
