What is Power-to-gas?

Power-to-gas is an emerging form of producing renewable natural gas that plays on the idea of creating green hydrogen. Both processes involve using renewable forms of electricity during the electrolysis process to separate water into its component parts of hydrogen and oxygen. That hydrogen can then be combined with carbon to produce methane, which of course is the chief component of natural gas. The current issue for this technology is the process of creating green hydrogen is still very expensive, and the added step of converting hydrogen to methane would only add to that cost. However, we believe this technology will become more mainstream in time, especially when the cost of producing green hydrogen reaches more competitive levels.
