Weekly Natural Gas Cash Prices Gain Ground in ‘Wild Week’ That Saw Pipeline Fire, Quake in Texas

Weekly natural gas cash prices were led higher by hubs in the Permian Basin flipping positive as all regions except Canada posted gains in the latest trading period.

NGI’s Weekly Spot Gas National Avg. for the Sept. 16-20 trading period gained 15.5 cents to $1.845/MMBtu.

Waha jumped $1.285 week/week to average 54.0 cents, its first time above zero since late July. Northwest Sumas added 79.0 cents to $1.570 as Canadian supply constraints forced the Northwest to source more gas from the Rockies, pulling its prices closer to the latter’s trading levels.
