Weekly natural gas cash prices ticked lower as a hurricane battered the Gulf Coast and milder temperatures loomed for more of the Lower 48.
NGI’s Weekly Spot Gas National Avg. for the Sept. 9-13 period declined a half-cent to $1.690/MMBtu.
Conditions during the week were defined by Hurricane Francine, which formed as a tropical storm early in the period and ultimately barreled into Louisiana as Category 2 storm on Wednesday. It disrupted LNG export activity and caused power outages, though it also slowed natural gas production meaningfully.
