CRE Dissolution Would Leave Mexico Natural Gas Rules Undefined, Expert Says

Transparency in Mexico’s natural gas market would suffer if the country’s Comisión Reguladora de Energía (CRE) were to be dissolved, Alexandra Lara, an independent energy consultant that previously worked with the regulator, told NGI’s Mexico GPI.

A constitutional overhaul to eliminate CRE and other regulators is currently under discussion in Mexico.

Lara is an independent energy consultant specializing in project management, communication, compliance and data science and has overseen multiple ventures that have successfully secured new permits within the downstream and retail sectors for natural gas.
